Save the Date

My aunt, Linda, is on of our wedding sponsors and will also be doing our paper products (i.e., save the dates, invitations, programs).

Her first draft was just completed!

Draft 2 is this:

These will probably get mailed in March once the list gets finalized.  :)

Engagement Photos

In January, we had our engagement photos done by our photographers, Mel and Brad Watson.  Here are some of our favorites.
Happy looking! <3

Registry!

When Adrian visited me during Christmas, we decided to venture out and register.  We did not really feel like we need to register for anything that we already have, especially since we each have our own places.  So, we just registered for special things that we could keep forever (i.e., china, nice knives, crystal vase, etc).

MACY'S
 WILLIAMS-SONOMA
CRATE AND BARREL

Aside from these two retail stores, our photographers offered to start a registry for us in case we wanted to upgrade our package.  Amazing idea!

Bridesmaid details

Cressa, my maid of honor, came across a dress detail that I LOVE!  Such a great accent especially for the church ceremony.  It will match perfectly with the Barong.  :)

When it rains, it pours!

As I finalize wedding details, I REALLY need something to help me organized.  I have my 'bible' that contains receipts, contracts, general information, etc.  I also divided everything in tabs which is very helpful to make sure I got everything.

Speaking of contracts, I just got my flower contract today.  Yay! One less thing to worry about...Phew!  This includes my bouquet, centerpieces for the 40 ft. head table, boutonnieres, corsages, toss bouquet, and flower girl bouquet.  The bridesmaids will be holding 'abanikos' down the aisle to keep the Spanish feel.

I have also been looking more into what hair I really want and I think I like this one - simple and out of my face.  :)

Engagement Party

On November 29, 2009, my parents hosted our Engagement Party.  It was held at Tuscany Grill in Melbourne, FL.  It was a quaint get together with all our close family and friends.

These photos are courtesy of Mark Marcojos

Thank you so much for everyone that came! It was so nice to see everyone there.  We are so fortunate to have such supportive and loving family and friends!

Opening some very thoughtful presents at my parents' house.

Hair, hair, hair!

I think I gave Nikki a slight heart attach when I asked her to do my hair. LOL! She refers to my hair as 'hair on steroids' because of its thickness and heaviness. She did such a great job though especially with the limited time we had to practice! Thanks, Nik!
I even got to enjoy it as Adrian and I celebrated
our 4th year anniversary and his 25th birthday at Dragonfly, the restaurant where we had our first date!

Barong, Shoes, and Dresses

As I mentioned earlier, we are having a traditional Filipino wedding. Therefore, Adrian, his groomsmen, family, and friends will all be wearing a barong. We found a perfect place to buy it (www.barongsrus.com). It will be such a nice touch to really represent Adrian and I. We will not force the guests to buy a barong though, don't worry! :)

The bridesmaids will be wearing a dress made by my Poveda batchmates from the Philippines that recently started their own clothing line. I wanted to show them my support and I love the design of this dress because of it's flowy nature. It will be quite similar to this dress worn by Jennifer Lopez in Maid in Manhattan. Thank you Celline and Berry (BeCe Manila)!

This is the adorable flower girl dress :)

I also just recently bought my shoes from J.Crew. It will be this style in blush pink. Soo pretty!

Wedding rings

Adrian had the hardest time picking what ring he wanted. We were set on getting the Cartier trinity ring (rolling ring), but then we went to Las Vegas in December and walked in to Piaget boutique. He tried their rings on and started to get confused on what ring he really wanted.

In the end, we chose the Piaget (spinning) ring. It is very simple, but still has a character to it. It just arrived a week ago!

My engagement ring was made specially in the Philippines since it incorporates Adrian's mom's and grandmother's stones. I feel very special to be given this special gift. My wedding band was just recently made.

Cake and Food Tasting

In beginning of November, we had our cake tasting with Irma Kay Strickler. She is amazing! All her cakes and frosting are homemade and are definitely made from scratch!

Our flavors:
*pound cake+chocolate
*pount cake+red velvet
*red velvet+chocolate (for top tier)

The next day, we went to Casa Monica for our food tasting. What a weekend filled with yummy, yummy food!

Our Salad

Filet Mignon

Braised Chicken

We are so lucky to have our parents there to give us their comments and ideas. The food was delicious! The vegetarian option is delicious too!

Bon Appetit!
